Big water in BC

So here I am, an Eastern Ontario playboater in the land of creeking (British Columbia) and what should I find? Some amazing play! After a month of on and off play at Brilliant wave in Castlegar
Brilliant Wave, Castlegar, BC

I finally got a chance at a rare wave on the Pend D'Oreille near Trail. Unfortunately there was no way to catch it at the level it was at without some very tricky rope/tow things set up on a train bridge (according to some locals that's the only way on) but I do have some pics of my dozens of attempts. At least the rapid below is massive, with lots of boils and whirlpools. An implosion device is highly recommended as well because if you swim you end up crossing into the U.S. and unless you boat with a passport it can be quite interesting...

Pend D'Oreille wave/hole/boil thing

Well that's all for the moment. I've just settled into my new home for the summer, Golden BC, and should have some updates shortly with so many great rivers around, like the Kicking Horse, Sutherland Falls, Skookumchuk Creek.....

World 2007

The 2007 Worlds are over. It was amazing, unbelievable and surprising! It was the first time we had a pretty big wave like that!
Thanks to the organizers for this event!

Each time you come in Canada it's huge kayaking: you must go there!!

As we waited for the good water level during long time on Ottawa river, we come on others nice waves like : Chambly, Pettawa, and many more.... In Canada it's hard to have good informations about water level!

hopefully the next world will be in Switzerland, and all event were great there! we'll be still lucky!
some picts to show the 2007 World
hope to see you on river!

Korean Rafting Team; Looking Good, Feeling Good

Why Didn't they want the North Korea Gray Color?
South Korea's Rafting team training for the World Championships. They have been training 12 hrs/day and eating only raw pork fat to destroy those "Behind the 8 Ball" rafters. Those Vail guys are probably eating filet mignon, lasagne and drinking lots of beer.
